Slingshot Terms of Service

Effective date: October 9, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Vybe sp. z o.o., Fasolowa 45/12, 02-483 Warszawa, Poland ("we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of the Slingshot mobile app, an instant chat service that matches registered users with people who share their interests (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data, and our Child Safety Standards describe how we protect minors.

Who can use the Service

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you are 16 or older and that the date of birth you give us is accurate.

If we learn that a user is under 16, we will close the account and delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy. If you believe someone under 16 is using the Service, please report it in the app or email csam@vybe.social.

If you are under 18, you confirm that you use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian where the law of your country requires it.

You may not use the Service if we have previously banned you, or if you are barred from using it under applicable law.

Your account

  • Give accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
  • An account is personal. Do not share it, sell it or let anyone else use it.
  • Keep your email account, device and login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our failure to protect it.
  • Tell us promptly at contact@vybe.social if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
  • Do not choose a name or profile picture that impersonates someone else, infringes another person's rights, or is offensive.

How Slingshot works

Not a random or anonymous chat

Slingshot is not a random or anonymous chat service. Every user must have a registered profile with their real name, date of birth and a profile picture, and must keep it accurate.

How matches are made

When you are online, you write a short prompt about what you want to talk about. We match you with other online users based on shared interests, how similar your prompts are, your filters (such as gender), your location, and similar age groups. Ratings from past chats also influence future matches.

Accept or skip

Before deciding, you see the other person's profile and their city and district. Slingshot does not show anyone your exact position or your distance from them. You can accept or skip the match, and a chat opens only when both of you accept. You can also report or block the other person at this stage.

During and after a chat

Either of you can disconnect at any time. If you close the app for more than 60 seconds, you are disconnected automatically. After a chat ends, you can rate it, report it or block the other person. Past chats are no longer available in the app once you start a new session.

Chatting safely

  • You may be talking with people you do not know. Do not share personal details such as your address, phone number or school.
  • Only share photos and videos you have the right to share. If other people can be recognised in them, make sure they agree.
  • Messages and media you send are delivered to the other person, who may save or screenshot them. Think before you share.
  • Never pressure anyone to move to another app or to send photos.
  • If anything makes you uncomfortable, disconnect and report it.

Rules of conduct

You agree not to use the Service to post, share or do any of the following:

  • Any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children, including child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion or trafficking. We have zero tolerance for this: we remove it, ban the accounts involved and report it to the authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.
  • Sexually explicit content or nudity, or intimate images of anyone shared without their consent.
  • Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or encouraging self-harm or violence.
  • Hate speech, or content attacking people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
  • Illegal content, or promoting or selling illegal goods or services, including drugs and weapons.
  • Impersonation, fake accounts, scams, fraud or deliberately misleading information.
  • Spam, unsolicited advertising, chain letters or pyramid schemes.
  • Content that infringes someone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights, including sharing another person's personal data without their permission.
  • Malware, scraping, automated access, reverse engineering, or attempts to bypass our security, blocks, bans or age requirements.
  • Using a fake name or a false date of birth, or a profile picture that shows someone else or is not a real person.
  • Asking for or sharing someone else's contact details or intimate images.
  • Sharing photos or videos of other people without their permission.
  • Recording or screenshotting chats to harass or expose someone.
  • Abusing ratings, reports or matching, for example by using multiple accounts.

Your content

You keep ownership of the text, photos, videos and other content you post on the Service ("your content"). You are responsible for it and confirm that you have the rights needed to share it.

You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, copy, adapt (for example, resize or compress), display and distribute your content, only as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users already received (for example, messages you sent them), copies kept in backups for a limited time, and copies we must keep for legal reasons.

We do not review content before it is posted, but we may review, restrict or remove content as described in "Reporting, moderation and appeals" below.

Reporting, moderation and appeals

How to report

You can report a user, message or other content directly in the app using the report option, and block any user so they can no longer contact you. You can also email contact@vybe.social. Please tell us where the content is, why you think it breaks the law or these Terms, and how we can reach you. You can report child sexual abuse material to csam@vybe.social without giving your name.

What we do

Our moderators review reports and prioritise anything involving the safety of children or a risk of harm. Depending on the case, we may remove or restrict content, limit features, suspend or close accounts, and report illegal content to law enforcement. We may also act on our own initiative, including with the help of automated tools; decisions to close accounts are reviewed by a person.

In Slingshot, reported profiles and conversations are analysed by an automated system using Google's Gemini AI so that we can respond quickly. Human moderators review the results, decide on account bans and handle every appeal.

If we restrict your content or account, we will tell you what we did and why, unless the law or an ongoing investigation prevents it. If someone repeatedly sends reports that are clearly unfounded, we may stop processing their reports for a period of time after warning them.

Appeals

If you disagree with a moderation decision, including a decision not to act on your report, reply to our notice or email contact@vybe.social within six months. A person who was not involved in the original decision will review your appeal, and we will tell you the outcome. You may also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the EU Digital Services Act, or go to court.

Point of contact

Users and authorities can contact us about content moderation and the Digital Services Act at contact@vybe.social, in English or Polish.

Intellectual property

The Service, including the Slingshot name, logo, design and software, belongs to Vybe sp. z o.o. and its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose under these Terms. You may not copy, modify or distribute the Service or use our trademarks without our written permission.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, email contact@vybe.social with: (1) a description of the work or right, (2) where the content appears, (3) your contact details, (4) a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and (5) a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Third-party services and app stores

The Service relies on third-party services (for example, app stores, maps and payment providers) that have their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that the Service links to.

Apple App Store

If you downloaded Slingshot from the Apple App Store, you also agree that:

  • These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
  • If a third party claims that the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending and settling the claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when using the app.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Google Play

If you downloaded Slingshot from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your download. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app.

Ending your use of the Service

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect other users or the Service. We will tell you the reason in advance where possible, unless doing so would compromise safety or an investigation or is prohibited by law. We may also discontinue the Service or part of it with reasonable notice.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (such as liability, governing law and the licence for content already shared) remain in effect.

Our responsibility to you

We work to keep the Service available, secure and working as described, but we cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Other users are responsible for their own content and conduct, both on the Service and when you meet in person. Please take sensible precautions when meeting people you know from the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including your statutory rights if the Service does not conform to the contract.

If you use the Service as a business (for example, as an event organizer acting in a professional capacity), and subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable for lost profits or indirect damage, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at contact@vybe.social; we aim to respond within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it, the dispute will be decided by the competent common courts. If you are a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live, where the law allows. If you are a business, the courts competent for our registered office in Warsaw have jurisdiction.

Consumers may also use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, for example through a municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa) in Poland, or a similar body in their own country. Information is available on the website of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).

Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we change the Service or the law changes. We will tell you about material changes in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law or to protect users. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not waived it. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to a successor company, and we will notify you if that happens; you may not transfer yours without our consent.
